Updated: Jan 29, 2021

New Organisation in MK champions Youth Voice

In the School of Arts and Media we are happy to share the news of the launch of Offset Projects, a new Milton Keynes based charitable organisation working with children & young people aged 0-25, to champion their agency, energy, and ideas in real time.

Offset focuses on the local, regional, and national perspective of young communities, working in collaboration with youth, educational, and cultural partners to provide creative environments which unlock potential, and challenge adversity and inequality.

Amongst other exciting project plans Offset have recently launched Open_Plan – a new project exploring the potential for a youth-led space in the heart of Wolverton. The project has been commissioned by Future Wolverton to work with, and consult, young people on this new development which will take place at the site of the old Agora. Within this project there a number free, online opportunities for young people 16+ interested in developing their leadership skills and having a say about the future of their local community:

  • Young people 16+ may sign up to join the Open_Plan Project Team. Training and all materials are provided and expenses (including internet data) are paid. >> There are a maximum of 10 places available. Click here for more.

  • Young people 16+ can book a place on one or all of our accompanying evening workshops, every Wednesday throughout February. Click here for more.

  • Youth groups are eligible for a FREE taster session which explores leadership, the project, and the development in greater depth.

  • Youth groups can participate in the city-wide consultation through surveys which will be shared as part of Open_Plan.

We will be promoting all of these wonderful opportunities with our students and look forward to sharing what they go on to achieve.
