Working with professional artists and arts organisations brings strong added value to our student experiences whilst on their course
In the School of Arts and Media we value this input highly and would like to share information below to promote our partner organisations, professional visiting artists and fellow collaborators.  
Resident Artist ~ Marie Gracie

Marie graduated from our Foundation Diploma course in 2019.  She is one of our Artists in Residence and runs a variety of workshops for the students and supports them with advice and she hopes, a little inspiration!


Outside of college Marie runs SCANArts, which offers creative workshops and one to one tuition/mentoring.

Partner organisations 

​Milton Keynes has a broad and varied cultural offer with many active organisations including three national portfolio organisations, MK Gallery, MK Arts Centre and The Stables. MK College is proud to be a part of the Milton Keynes Cultural Educational Partnership through MAKE

​Milton Keynes has a broad and varied cultural offer with many practicing artists and professional creatives.

Within our first few weeks of the start to a new academic year in September 2020 our Acting students were fortunate enough to work with recognised local theatre practitioner Rosemary Hill read more in our blog feature


In the year September 2019 - July 2020 including throughout Lockdown we have been proud to work with and host workshops and talks from the following creatives: 

  • Motus delivering a dance workshop to Level 2 Performing Arts, just before everything went remote. 

  • Stuart Moore exploring sound art with FAD and HE students,

  • Frances Fox from Westbury Arts Centre delivering an arts workshop to HE Art students. 

  • Katie Ellen Fields ran a workshop for second year Art & Design students 

  • Elizabeth Howard from Arts & Heritage Alliance setting a live brief to Graphic Design students. 

  • Tom Eke inspiring our Art & design students

  • Nicky Hunter, Freelance Textile designer working with our Fashion and Clothing students over several sessions. 

  • Patrick King sharing his experiences with Media students through an online webinar. 

  • Art and Design students took part in weekly Artist Challenges set by Emma CousinPriya Chohan Padia, and Maria Teresa Ortoleva throughout June. 

  • Kate Milner gave an excellent presentation on book cover illustration to Graphics/FAD

  • Angela Carmody and the design team at Cygnus  - provided a live "Mural" project for Graphics year 1

  • Students on HE courses had the opportunity to work with two more artists from Westbury Arts Centre Studios; Kate Wyatt, a watercolour artist specialising in wildlife, and Joe Little, a landscape painter specialising in seascapes. 

  • HE students also got to experience a workshop with the multidisciplined Jessica Rost
